West Coast Shorthorn Selection Sale 2009

An extremely even line-up of bulls carrying some of the best genetics in Australia, met a tight market last week at the Kojonup, W.A., venue..

Despite only four catalogued bulls being trucked home, it was a rather flat sale at the West Coast Selection. It was however, encouraging to see new buyers purchasing better quality bulls to go into cross-breeding programmes..

No standout prices this year with a top of $5750, again to the Narralda Stud of Alex and Heather Burrow, Albany. A top bid of $7000 was not enough for Narralda to part with another of their team that they had already used as a yearling.

After a years absence, Linsmau returned to Kojonup with a very good team and secured the second highest average behind Narralda.

First time vendor, Belinda George, a junior member, sold her single entry after the sale and we wish you well next year Belinda.

The last Limorn bull was sold this year as Craig and Tammy are reverting to the original Partridge family Stud name of Priory Park.
