Shorthorn Youth Club Fundraising Steer

The 2010 Shorthorn Youth club steer (donated by Anthony Chrichton Brown of Deltroit Station) was auctioned off at Sprys on-property sale at Wagga Wagga on Wednesday, 28th April. The steer was less than 18 months old and milk tooth. It had a marble score 4, EMA 96cm, 1B Meat Colour and had a 55% boning room yield. The Shorthorn Youth Club would like to thank the following purchasers of the meat packs for their support of the Youth club: Castlegate VGS, David Gittoes and Brian Liston, Anthony Crichton Brown, Don Kirpatrick and Ben Hooper. The steer raised $4000 this year with the money going towards the running of the 2010 Shorthorn Youth Heifer Show in Parkes on the 2nd, 3rd & 4th of October 2010. Thanks must also go to the Spry family for their continued support of the SYCA, Ashleigh Park Feedlot for donating the feed for the steer, and Countryside Meats for their donation of time and labour in processing the steer.
